About Pathway to Prevention

The primary mission of Pathway to Prevention is the prevention and early intervention of teenage drug and alcohol addiction. The organization was founded by a group of mothers concerned about widespread substance abuse by teens who didn’t comprehend the significant dangers posed by innocent “experimentation.” Pathway to Prevention is committed to educating teens and their parents about substance abuse via Collision Course – Teen Addiction Epidemic documentary, which will be supplemented by outreach education in schools and community settings. Our vision is one of entire communities of teens who “Choose not to Use!”

Pathway to Prevention is a program of The Effort, Inc., a network of community health centers that have delivered primary care, behavioral health and preventative services to the Sacramento community since 1953. Pathway to Prevention is a non-profit organization.
